Romantic HK Getaway!

Finally back to our homeland! The past 4D3N have been so fulfilling and rewarding. If only Jovin could be with us as well.... This was a birthday treat from my hubby James to vcelebrate my birthday as well as to give ourselves a short deserving trip. Though Jovin wasn't with us. she was constantly on our mind. That's why she got the most presents (10+ sets of clothing, toys, shoes etc.). We would definitely bring her along when she's turned older :)

Early morning on 25th Apr, we kissed Jovin goodbye as we passed her to my in laws. Little Jovin was still sound asleep then, not knowing Daddy & Mummy have left. On the cab, we were both very excited as it's our 1st trip to HK. Ready for all the 'killing' haha! Our plane departed at 1015 am. Cathay Pacific was a pleasant ride for us and the meals served on board catered to our tastes as well. We soon reached HK around 1.30p.m. After all the immigration procedures, we went to the hotel with the arranged transport for us with our city tour guide, Paul.Temperature was cooling around 22 deg celsius - perfect climate for shopping hehe! The hotel was average. Though small, but cosy enough since we only need the basic accomodation. Most of the time we would be out :)

Throughout our stay, besides the usual shopping spree at major shopping malls like Langham, Harbour City, Wagjiao Centre, Sino Centre etc, we went to nite markets at ladies street, fa yuen street, miao jie etc where we found many cheap bargain items. The children's apparel were really dirt cheap at fa yuen street. Eash set of clothing costs only around $3! As such. my little Jovin ended up with many clothes :) Apart from shopping, we joined the city tour & visited scenic spots like the peak, madamme tussad museum, golden bauhinia square etc. We had experience taking their ferry, open air/peak trams, mtr etc. Of all, I enjoyed the open air tram the most as we could enjoy the breeze as the bus goes.

Of course, we enjoyed the food there with loads of dim sum, dumplings, soft bone soup, double-boiled soup. Most of our meals were taken in those cha can tingalong the streets. One word - SEDAP! The food wasn't that cheap. Each meal costs around $10 - 20+ but all were value for money indeed. We went to Disneyland and decided to give Ocean Park a miss. We would revisit the park once it completes its renovation. We had tim sum at the highly recommended MAXIM restaurant by my sis-in-law and took the enjoyable MTR ride to Disneyland without difficulty. it was similar to ours when we need to transfer at City Hall interchange etc. The trip took around 45min. We took the disney mrt. All the cabins were in mickey mouse shape :) We reached there around 11.30p.m and guess what? We stayed through 6.30p.m! We had unlimited rides and took photos with almost all the characters. Last time we went to US, didn't have so much opportunites as the queues were long. This time round, crowd was manageable as it was a weekday. We watched the disney parade and it was a spectacular but sounds funny with them conversing in cantonese. The park was small and most of the rides weren't that too thrilling and the food was rather lousy, I would say. It would be great if the entrance fees could be slashed as it costs HK 245/pax! But overall, it was enjoyable and we bought the same series of t-shirts for our family. Imagine us wearing the same t-shirts on streets hehe.

On the last day, we did last minute shopping at the nearby streets at Mongkok. All was fine except for the last hitch when my dear James accidentally knocked into a pillar as he was too engrossed reading the map. OMG! It was really a big thump that I heard. He was limping all the way from the airport to home then. Luckily we had ended all our walking then. Poor hubby. But this is really self-inflict injury. Bet there would be a big bruise on his kneecap. We left for the airport in our arranged coach and finally took the flight home to our homeland. It was a short but indeed fulfilling trip this time round. Jovin was so excited and longed for our hugs when she saw us the next morning. We've decided to bring her along for Japan trip. of course, not so soon else it will really burn a big hole in James's pocket haha! Anyway, thks huby for the wonderful birthday trip. U've really brought me sweet unforgettable memories. Thks Hubby, I love u!

My Big Day!

On 24th, we had a cosy and simple birthday celebration for my 30th big day! It's essential that I have James and Jovin with me on this special day. As James and I would be flying off for HK the next day, we decided to have a pre celebration with Jovin. After work, we went to fetch Jovin andsettled for buffet dinner at Siam Kitchen @ Causeway Point. As it was a weekday, the crowd was manageable. This was the first time we tried their buffet. the dishes were delicious, especially the satay. We couldn't help but kept ordering a few portions. Jovin happily joined in the dinner eating her egg, tofu and vegetables. After the hearty meal, we left for home and had the birthday cutting session. James bought me a simple fruit cake and my little princess once again displayed her singing talent and cut the cake with mummy. It was really a heart-warming birthday celebration. Can't believe I've turned 30! But very satisfied that I have my 2 most importabt and beloved of my life to share this moment with me. This year is really a totally different celebration for me as I will be with James in HK on my actual day i.e 25th! HK, HERE I COME!

Birthday Celebration!

Since 2002, my family has been doing joint birthday celebration for Jerad and myself since our birthdays are merely 2 days apart (23rd and 25th). Mum whipped up wonderful dishes as though we were having reunion dinner hehe. The kids were thrilled and played with ballons, had fun with party packs etc. Jovin too, had her fair share of fun and enjoyed herself tremendously. We had the birthday cutting session after dinner and Jovin happily sand and clapped her hands during the birthday cutting session. Will be having my minin birthday celebration with my 2 little darlings too. Looking forward to that......

Fun At Downtown East!

On Sun, we had a great whale of time at Downtown East. We wanted to spend more time with our little darling as we would be off to Hongkong next Wed-Sun. So we wanted to spend more time with her. We left home around 5p.m and reached there around 5.45p.m. To our surprise, parking lots were easily available. The tix were not cheap though. However for the sake of Jovin, we still went into the park. Frankly speaking, it's our 1st time there too as the rides don't really interest us. However, Jovin really loves the theme park. Her first try was on the kiddy ride. There was this nice lady instructor who accompanied Jovin all the way along the route and Jovin still happily directed the instructor, haha! There were no queues and Jovin could have unlimited rides! That was the most wonderful thingy! We went onto choo choo train rides, planes, ferris wheel etc. In fact, some of the rides were for us alone and we felt like VIPs hehe...

James and I had our fair share of play too at Viking and GO-KART. Jovin happily ate her porridge as James went to take on the adult ride. DWe enjoyed ourselves on unlimited rides till 8p.m and went for dinner at Fishermen's Village. the food was good. Perhaps we were famished too. Jovin ate her rice with tofu and vegetables and we took her for a stroll and swing at the nearby Pasir Ris Park playground after dinner to aid digestion hehe. She loved the swing so much as James and I swung her to and fro.

We were really exhausted on our way home. We pushed Jovin back to the car park on her pram as James tickled and giggled with her along the stretch. This naughty little pie really enjoyed herself so tremendously yesterday. We look forward to more of such family trips in future :)

The Happy Trio

Every weekend, James & I would rack our brains into thinking where to bring Jovin. Heehee, we just can't stay indoors..... ( Well, to be precise, it's me who yearns to go out!) We decided to head for Plaza Sing yesterday as we seldom shop in that area. As usual, it wasn't easy to locate a parking lot. After we secured the lot, we started our shopping. It really seemed to be ages since we last visited here as many shops seemed very foreign to me. I went to DAISO & grabbed many stuff, really cheap & good! We went around shops like TIMES, BEST, MORE THAN WORDS etc. We had a real good dinner at Swensens. We ordered an omelette kids meal for Jovin & she had lots of fun playing with the store manager. Jovin seemed so well-mannered in front of strangers. He told Joivn to finish the omelette & promised to give her a present. To our surprise, she really obediently finished her food! The manager was really kind & gave her stickers as well as wafer biscuit. Look at our dear Jovin, wonder who gave her the idea & she pasted all stickers on her face! Haha! Many were so amused by her at this hilarious act.

Following the dinner, we continued shopping, had some kopi andwent to Carrefour. Jovin enjoyed herself happily on the baby swing. In fact, she's already too old for it but her petite size managed to squeeze her in the infant seat. She happily swinged herself to and from in the baby department while I continued to browse around. It was a happy shopping trip for us & most importantly, Jovin was tired out from all the walking that she fell asleep easily! Thk God!

Ladies Chill-Out Time!

I really had a wonderful time last nite with my girlfriends - Vivian, Kim & Hwei min. We got accquainted through a common course upon our employment. Currently, only Vivi & I still remained in the organisation but Kim & HM have left. However, this doesn't deter the close bonding among us. The 4 of us got married almost the same time & all of us are mums except for HM, who's on her way too :)

Without our husbands & children, our main topic still revolves around them. We shared intimate thoughts about out closest halves, the funny things that our kids do, our in-laws etc. It's really so amazing that we find so many similarities among our 4 hubbies! They give the same reasons for not doing things, delaying stuff, too tired to spend time with kids etc. OMG! Is that a '10 year series' answer for all husbands in the world?

Of course, we know deep in our hearts, we still love each other. But it's really a wonderful thing when all of us can laugh & share the conversation all on our husbands & children. We laughed, giggled, complained etc. It was such a stress-relieving & comfortable session with your closest girlfriends. This is the group whom I can really share some intimate & personal thoughts with them, hehe. I believe & really hope for our friendship to last even till we become grandparents cos it's not easy to find great confidantes.

An extraordinary beachy Good Friday!

Since birth, Jovin rarely has the opportunity to get in touch with nature. Last Fri, James & I decided to bring Jovin to the beach so as to give her some exposure to the beach & sand. We targetted for the evening stroll, thinking the sun may not be that over-powering for Joivn then. It was a real crowd since it was a public holiday & the weather was fine. We saw many families setting up tentages, bringing their bbq food & groups of youngsters crowding around playing team games. Really brought us past memories when James & I used to do that with our JC pals too. We too, sat in a circle, played games, laughed loudly, played pranks on one another. We had our fair share of teenagehood too :)

We brought Jovin to the sand. To our surprise, she was so overwhelmed by the sane particles that got in her way. We encouraged to move forward but she didn't dare & kept yelling for us. The usual tyrant has disappeared, hehe. She stood in the sand & did not dare to walk further without our assistance. We decided to bring her out from the sand & grabbed a bite at the nearby fast food restaurant.

After that, we decided to test Jovin again. This time round, we removed her shoes and she was much more daring! James held her little hands & brought her nearer to the beach. It was the first time Jovin saw the big waves coming & having her feel in the sandy beaches. The feeling of bare-footedness must be an entirely different feeling for Jovin. I was the photographer for that day & it really warmed my heart to see father & daughter walking hand in hand along the seaside. At this moment, I really feel blesses & blissful. Thks to my 2 darlings of my life :)

Hooked On....... KOLO MEE

Of late, James had a deep craving for KOLO Mee. It all began last weekend when we went to Chinatown to colleact our tix for Hong Kong trip in end Apr (Yes, we are going to HK to celebrate my birthday, yeh! Kisses to my hubby! )There were many eateries along the stretch & the KOLO mee restaurant happened to catch James's attention. Told James I've tried that in another outlet & it tastes good, worth giving it a try. We ordered the 2 speciality noodles with prawn & abalone & a bowl of wanton soup. Goodness, James was so appetized by the noodles that he asked for another helping! Since that day, he's been thinking non-stop about the delicious noodles and strongly recommended to his colleagues. Guess what? We went back on Thursday nite again! Even the workers at the restauarant could recognise Jovin! This time round, we ordered fried wanton & the abalone with vegetables as the side dishes. James said nothing but 1 word -SEDAP! He was really so satisfied ater that hearty meal & swear that he will certainly return for more. Have never seen James so crazy over food in all these years. Well, it's the thick bouncy springy noodles with the special sauce that makes James so mersmised. Bet the pictures alone will make him drool......
