March Holidays 2013!

It has been a real busy and challenging period for me. I must admit having to juggle between work and home is no easy feat. To worsen matters, dear's refusal to hire a part-time domestic helper really adds onto my load. Ok, enough of complaining. Time flashback 1.5 months ago during Mar hols....

Mum & Little 'J's Exclusive Bonding...

Despite having to complete work during Mar holidays, I still made it a point and spent valuable time with my 2 little 'J's. Exclusive mummy and kids bonding moments were created as we watched 'Croods'!

The kids were thrilled as they even tried on the new motorised jeep ride made available at AMK hub recently. As it was a weekday, there wasn't much crowd and they were even allowed to play for extra time without having to pay more! I truly enjoyed the movie with my 2 precious darlings. It's been sometime I laughed so heartily in a cinema. Never knew and expected the cartoon could be a great stress-reliever! After which, we went all the way to dear's office at Raffles City and daddy was really in for a pleasant surprise as we 'charged' up to his office without advance notice, haha.. The evening ended well with a great dinner with the kids.

Science Exploration @ Science Centre

Dear took a day off his hectic work schedule and we decided to visit Science Centre once again despite our recent visit in last October. This time round, we really took a real good look at almost all exhibits and had fun exploring some real interesting exhibits and experimenting various display items with our little 'J's. The kids loved the 'fractions' play through arranging the pizza portions and they even had a friendly match. The winner won a Kinderjoy surprise from us, haha!

This time round, what was most memorable was the visit to the earthquake and larvae segment. Jovin, being more matured. even peeked into the microscope to 'view' the larvae and we explained to her what that is all about. The most interesting part was, we were even allowed to enter a simulated 'earthquake room' and experience for ourselves what earthquake is truly like by varying the degree of severity! I truly enjoyed that part. Jovin even showered Jovan her concern and ran to hug Jovan when the 'earthquake' started. Shs told us she needed to protect didi and we were really so consoled to hear that!

Before we went to the waterworks area for water fun, Jovin and I left a message on the touch screen message board, stating how memorable and enjoyable the visit was. Our messages were instantly posted once we submitted the comments. Cool!

It was a fun day @ Science Centre and the kids definitely enjoyed the water fun @ their favourite water works area for almost 1.5 hours! Science Cemtre is definitely a MUST place for us since I already renewed my membership for the next 2 years, haha... Typical S'porean behaviour huh?

Family Link-Up With the Lim Family @ Duck Tour

On the last Friday of the holiday, we arranged a combined meet-up with our best pals' family on a ride to duck tour which we bought from Groupon much earlier. Initially, it was pouring but we were glad the tour still materialised eventually. Well, we were actually curious what it was all about but it was truly after the tour, we realised the tour was definitely not fun. We were merely sitting on the bus, listening to the guide rattling and blabbering non-stop and the only climax was, THE DUCK BUS SWUNG INTO THE SEA! That's when we started our tour on the sea. Nonetheless, Jovin seemed to enjoy the companionship of Kaden very much, though Jovan was rather temperamental, and there was hardly any sea breeze to 'cool' me down as I was 'fighting' hard with my son, getting him to pose for me. Nonetheless, my pictures showed as though I was enjoying very much huh... But the truth was.... ( as stated aboved) If not for the deal, we would not want to spend a hefty sum for the ride.

The holidays was well spent with great quality family time through activities. Despite having a busy work schedule, I do appreciate the vacation breaks in between for quality bonding wth my kids. Looking forward to Jun hols is my next motivation!

Exclusive Bonding with Little 'J's @ SmartKids Asia 2013!

Ever since my 1st visit to the SmartKids Asia exhibition last year, I really looked forward very much to this year's. This was a resounding success since its first attempt last year that they decided to make this an annual affair. We had already planned to bring the kids long ago, but dear was activated last minute to attend a grooming workshop which lasted whole day. Nonetheless, I decided to go ahead with the plan despite I'm the only one bringing the 2 of them and we took public transport all the way to EXPO!

I first brought the kids for a hearty Macdonalds breakfast. After which, we took a long MRT ride all the way to EXPO! I thought we were early at 11.30a.m since the exhibition started at 11a.m. Gosh, the queue for free goodie bags was horrendous and I couldn't even qualify for the goodie bags as I was not among the first 500! 'Kiasuness' spirit indeed prevails widely in Singapore.

So, we started our 'expedition'!

There were really lots of booths and all seemed so interesting. Most booths provided free trial sessions, freebies and lots of instant photos taken on the spot! The kids had hands-on fun through drums, LEGO like blocks, soccer, even taekwondo! Of course, their best part of the walk was that they enjoyed free ice-cream treat, which they were usually barred by mummy....

Jovin also had her first experience at the indoor rock-climbing session She was so terrified intially and paused for quite a while before she decided to make another step up to the top. Finally with encouragement and guidance under the coach, our princess FINALLY did it and she was so proud of her mini achievement! I was busy snapping the memorable shots and took videos too, so that I could update dear instantly. Dear wished he could fly over to join us then to witness the little 'J's having fun.

There was a centre stage performance too and that was the place where I could finally have my breather. Our little 'J's were simply too engrossed in the booths that they did not even want to have proper lunch. So the poor mummy had to survive on little snacks to curb the hunger pangs. With the list of interesting programmes lined up for the kids, Jovin took part in 3 activities on the spot and won prizes. One of them was their favourite Honey Stars and guess what? Perhaps we were too hungry, so the 3 of us finished the half dozen in no time!

Another highlight of the exhibition was the opportunity to take shots with the various mascots like Captain Star, Koko Bear, The Brands Essence Mascot whom we couldn't even see his eyes, haha... So we grabbed whoever we saw and the camera just kept snapping.

Last but not least, Jovin had one of her favourite activities done there - Skipping. She was really good for her age and managed to skip around 80. She even brought along her own skipping rope which was hidden in her own bag. When she took it out, I really had a shock. Skipping is really one of Jovin's loves.

I didn't expect myself to stay there till 9p.m ( exhibition's ending time)! I toured almost all booths and gathered much useful information too. When we reached home, I was as tired as the kids and we went to bed in no time. It was indeed enjoyable exclusive bonding moments spent with my precious little 'J's. Exhaustion aside, given another opportunity, I would definitely bring them out again. Looking forward to the exhibition next year. See u SmartKids 2014!
