Another Year Wiser!

25th Apr marks another year wiser into my life. This year, I would say, the feeling is entirely different most importantly due to our latest addition Jovan and the best thing is, I'm still on leave! Due to James's busy work schedule, he couldn't manage to take leave on Fri. So he arranged for a series of celebrations from Fri night till Sun.

On Fri night, we had dinner at Sushi Tei upon my request hehe at Thomson Plaza. Believe it or not, I've never been to Sushi Tei before. The food was great there and Jovin loved the prawn omelette don which we ordered for her. I was surprised she loves to eat roe too. She kept 'snatching' the roe on my sushi haha! We went home with a mini mango mousse cake and had our own house of 'Js' mini birthday celebration. The old and young 'Js' sang birthday song togehter. It was really a heart-warming feeling....

On Sat night, we went to Plaza Singapura. It's been real long since we've last been there. Actually, the visit was upon James's request as he said he needed to make a trip there to accomplish some major task. We went to SPOTLIGHT and I bought scrapbook materials for my little Jovan. Jovin was fortunate as we received a lovely scrap book from our friend during her full month. So, in order to be fair to my lovely Jovan, mummy decided to make the scrap book as well. We ended off the night with a late Carl's Junior dinner with my lovely Jovin enjoying the chicken breast fingers and I ate the ever healthy low-card charboiled chicken wrap.

On Sun, Daddy James arranged for us to T3. Haven't been there since it's opening in Jan 08. The place was indeed spacious and Jovin had so much freedom and room to run about. Jovan's performance was very commendable too. He happily slept in mummy's baby pouch throughout and enjoyed his feeding in my pouch too. We had simple meals at food court and cuppa at coffee bean. Shops weren't many but it was an interesting experience though. We went to the viewing gallery and Jovin was very excited to see the plane taking off. She even exclaimed and asked the planes to fly towards her. What a hilarious sight haha! We went to Tampines mall after T3 and had a quick shop-through. The mall was fully packed with people. Didn't expect that... The celebrations were simple but really heartwarming to me as my most important 'Js' are with me throughout. Hehe, however, to date, haven't received the birthday present my dear hubby wants to give me. Still waiting and waiting till my neck's breaking...... He asked me to give him some time. Well, shall wait and see. But really glad that I have such a happy family. I hope the House of 'Js' will be as happy forever. That's my greatest wish :)

Time for Exploration!

As little Jovan advances into his 8th week, he starts to lurk around and ocassionally makes some ooh and ah sounds which entice the 3 of us. Caught him gazing hard at the mobile the other day. He was paying attention to the tune and looking at the mobile. Erm, wonder what's going on in his little mind?

Family Blissfulness!

To me, this is what family blissfulness is all about.........

Fate with the Peh Family!

On Saturday, it was really fated! Be it coincidental or not, I actually met Vivian 3 times in a row in United Square shopping mall! First time, I was really so surprised and delighted to see my good pal cos it's been real long since I've last seen her and now she's in her second trimester, expecting her princess no.2! We had quite a long chat the first time we met as we are really very good pals, one of the few surviving ones still in the same organisation as me, haha! The next 2 times, we bumped into each other and we saw her hubby as well as her precious Jiayi. Haha, really a small place! We didin't expect to stay long in the shopping mall as our original intent was to have a quick browse through the shops. In the end, we bought clothes and a pair of shoes for Jovin. Quite surprised James actually wanted to buy the shoes as it cost $40! However, our girl likes it and the quality is good, so daddy decided to buy it. We ended the night with a late dinner at Bakerzin and stayed till 10.30p.m. The shops were closed and Jovin had her own freedom to run around the nearby areas while we happily enjoyed our late dinner. It was a great night well spent. Looking forward to more outings and perhaps meeting the Peh family again since S'pore is a small world :)

Weekend Shopping Spree!

It has really been quite sometime since I've gone real shopping with my family. Last weekend, the only item on our agenda was SHOPPING! Yes, true indeed and we brought our 2 lovely 'Js' along with us.

On Sat, we went to Junction 8 and realised there was so much crowd. We had a quick shop at the shops there and I went to Precious Thots to collect my annual membership figurine as well as bought a new baby boy photo frame for my little Jovan. After that, we went to have some cuppa at Delifrance and Jovin loved eating the apple crepe with ice cream. I was feeding Jovan whereas Jovin and James fed me with the sumptous dessert. Jovin was extremely happy and kept running around, stopping at times and pestered me to take photos of her in different poses. Many passer-bys were really amused by her act as she incidentally bumped into many passer-bys as she was running around.

On Sun, guess where we went? We went to Centrepoint Robinsons! We thought no harm giving it a try. Reached orchard around 1.30p.m and we went to the basement food lane at Centrepoint for fish ball noodles. We had a breeze through meal as Jovan happily slept in the pram. Jovin enjoyed the fishball beehoon and we allowed her to have a sip of the ice lemon tea. She giggled non-stop then. After settling Jovan's milk feed, we went to Robinsons and our dear Jovin suddenly said she needed to pass motion, so the 4 of us went to the baby care room. Just in time as I needed to change diapers for Jovan who just did his business too. I took care of Jovan whereas James settled Jovin. Luckily Jovin's kiddy cubicle was just next to the diaper changing area and it really brought us much convenience. Haha, the most hilarious part was when Jovan 'treated' us to his 'fountain' when I was in the midst of changing his diapers. In the end, his mittens and clothes got wet. Luckily, I brought along a spare set of clothing for him. After settling both kids, we were ready and bought baby essentials, clothing, leap pad books and a new drawing mat aqua doodle for Jovin! Jovin loved it! This aqua doodle is amazing. It is a product from Japan that makes use of the principle of water. We just need to fill the special pen with water and Jovin can scribble, colour etc. on the provided mat and there's no fear of her scribbling on our walls etc. It was a real good buy and provided much convenience to parents like us. Our hands were full after the buy. James carried the items whereas I pushed Jovin in the pram as Jovan slept in my baby pouch.

It was a successful shopping spree after all. Though more inconvenient as we need to pause for milk feeds, diaper changing etc. It's a great feeling to be able to go out and enjoy as one family. James and I have decided to bring the kids out more often. Perhaps that's why our kids are more sociable.... I definitely look forward to more of such family bonding sessions together with my lovely hubby and 2 'Js'.

Lesson Time!

When we had Jovin, James and I still remembered vividly we tried to show Jovin red, black and white flash cards to stimulate her sight. This time round, little Ms Jovin has taken over our roles. She was very enthusiastic in showing her baby brother the flash cards and told him 'apple, socks, circle etc.' James and I really found it so amusing looking at the way Jovin was 'teaching' Jovan. She simply refused to pass us the cards and wanted to show Jovan what the flash cards were all about. It was really a heartwarming sight especially when she gave Jovan a very sweet peck on the forehead at the end of the 'lessons'. That's our 2 little 'Js' who never fail to uplift our moods and keep us jovial :)

Bolster Time!

Hehe, Little Jovan had his sweet dreams while cuddling his first bolster. See how cute he looks....Looking forwad when he will grow longer than his bolster!

1st Family Outing!

Yesterday, the House of 'Js' made our 1st outing together to the nearby Causeway Point. I carried Jovin in the baby pouch whereas Jovin happily stayed in the pram. Jovan was enjoying his beauty sleep in mummy's pouch and he seemed so satisified and secure. we went for lunch at Fiesta. Jovin had her lunch on the baby chair and little Jovan slept in the pram. Intially, there was some chaos as Jovin threw tantrums when I placed Jovan in the pram. She insisted the pram was hers. We took a while to cajole and pacify her. She later enjoyed the chicken katsun don and tempura ice cream and Jovan happily had his milk feed after I've taken my meal. We went for a quick shop at Kiddy Palace. Jovin ran around wildly as usual with James taking care of her and I looked after Jovan. We bought a stroller toy for Jovan and a birthday present for my nephew Jerad. We stayed there for around 3 hours+ and went home. It was a short and manageable trip. However, it's really rather tiring and energy draining though to keep tabs on both young kids. Will make few attempts in the neighbourhood malls before we target at the crowded town areas in the near future :)

Same outfit!

Hehe, found this real cute and just wanna share with my dearest friends.....

Jovan's homely activities!

It's real fun and interesting to observe the development and growth of Jovan. Day by day, he gives us different surprises and keeps us entertained with his newly accquired skills. These 2 days, he seems to start gazing real hard at play-gym toys that's of close proximity to him and the way he poses with the teddy seems as though they were striking a conversation hehe. All these reminded me of the fond memories of little Jovin. Time really flies. Can't believe I'm going through these again!

Little Jovan's 1st Outing!

Have been cooping up in the house for long. Yesterday, I decided to bring Jovan out for some breather. We went to the nearby shopping mall Sun Plaza. It's little Jovan's first time out with mummy! After his milk feed and bath, Jovan was very satisfied and allowed mummy to dress him up and he happily slept in the pram. I bought some daily groceries and went to coffee bean for afternoon tea. Wow, it was a real relaxation as I called James to tell him what his dear wife was doing, hehe...The first outing with mummy was very successful as he did not throw ant tantrums and cooperated throughout the short duration of 2 hours. I was very satisfied after all my buys too. It was a great breather for me too... Looking forward to our upcoming mini family outing to Causeway Point this weekend. Need to 'test water' as it's a challenge to go out with my 2 babies :)

Jovin's new found love!

Love 1: Art and Craft
Recently, I've upgraded Jovin's mini white board to a bigger version one which was actually one of her 1 year old presents. This is a 3 in 1 chalkboard, white board cum magnetic board. Basically, the white board is of more frequent usuage and Jovin loves to scribble and draw on the white board. Her current forte is drawing circles and trying her very best to draw sun. Every night, we will make use of the white board to conduct some simple interactive learning for her. We are glad she loves it and we can actually leave her alone for sometime to do her scribbling!

Love 2: Pink floral hairband
Just bought Jovin a new sweet pink floral hairband and Jovin loves flaunting it these days and keep asking James and myself if it's pretty and looks nice on her. She keeps urging me to take photos of her with the hairband too. Oh looks like she's really inherited mummy's vain genes!

Love 3: Jovan's Play-gym
Just look at the oversized, overgrown 'baby' Jovin! She's enjoying herself with Jovan's play-gym set and always wants to have her milk in the play-gym set nowadays. Wonder how things will turn out when Jovan grows older and knows how to appreciate his toys. Currently, sister Jovin is playing with all of didi's toys too. Wait till the next few months.....

2nd time motherhood

Advancement into motherhood really marks a great turning point in my life. From Jovin in 05 till Jovan in 08, I find myself having matured a lot. Prior to giving birth to Jovin, I took care of my niece and nephews. As such, I had no qualms in changing diapers, feeding milk, burping etc. Nevertheless, it's only when you truly experience motherhood then you will fully understand what it is all about. Comparing the 2 births, I find myself more experienced in taking care of my little one this round especially when it comes to bathing. I didn't have much confidence to bathe Jovin alone only till she turned 3 months old. This round, I easily handled Jovan myself as soon as he turned full month.

Nonetheless, apart from the normal daily routine , I find myself really exhausted in having to manage Jovin and Jovan especially when Jovan has yet to settle down with his sleeping patterns. I need to spend time with Jovin in reading, colouring, playing etc yet at the same time need to juggle with Jovan's daily routine. This is really no easy feat and I really salute to those who have 3 or 4 kids. I try to put in my best but sometimes I feel that I tend to neglect Jovin due to fatigue and that really makes me feel apologetic towards her. James said I may be too perfectionist and take things too hard. I feel that I should be able to do better than that. Every night, I try to ensure I will go through at least one bonding exercise with Jovin, be it watching of Hi5, reading or any other activity. I will cuddle and ask her what she's learnt in school etc. After I've settled her to sleep, I will need to settle Jovan. Feeding, coaxing him to sleep, changing diapers etc. At times, really feel like giving up but whenever I look at both my little 'Js', I will tell myself all these are worthwhile. Mummy just has to sacrifice hours of sleep and rest.

Motherhood is definitely not a breeze through but is definitely an enjoyment when you can cuddle and hug your little darlings. I've never regretted having these 2 bundles of joy though it really takes much sacrifice. 2nd time motherhood is defintely much more wearier than the first one as I need to juggle between both of them. However, with James's support and the unyielding love I have for them , I believe I will overcome it :)

Our 2 'Js'

Was browsing through Jovin's photos and decided to do up some photo comparison between our 2 kids. Realised babies can be so alike in certain mannerisms! On the other hand, mummy and daddy felt that Jovin and Jovan are really very different in terms of their features. Jovan looks tanned and potrays a manly look whereas Jovin is very fair and cutie look. Erm, hard to tell they are siblings eh? Doing up the photos of my 2 cuties is really a great enjoyment. Mummy will definitely persevere in doing up nice albums and taking great photos of my 2 precious darlings :)
