Post Fathers' Day Celebration!

Last Sunday was Fathers'Day. However, my brother was away in KL. So we decided to postpone the celebration till tonite instead. We went to the Putian restaurant at Kitchener Road as that's my parents' favourite. Luckily, we made a reservation beforehand as the restaurant was fully packed. However, to our shock, the management told us we had to clear the place by 7.30p.m as another group would be coming. Well, that kinda pissed me off. They did not mention anything when I made the reservation. Luckily, we finished the food in time. Apart from that, service was rather pleasant as there was free valet parking, good food and friendly waitresses around. The only thing was, we felt a bit compelled and rushed into leaving the restaurant on time. Glad that Daddy & Mummy enjoyed the food. My family usually gather together for birthday celebrations, festive ocassions etc. That's why I told James I always feel very close to my family. Believe Jovin will be very attached to Crystal, Chrus & Jerad in future too as they meet one another at my mum's place almost everyday!
In a way, Jovin has 3 elder siblings to dote on her. Lucky her :)

Usual Weekend Date

Pepole always stare at me as I always tell them I still spend my weekends watching movies, going to KTVs etc. It's almost unbelievable to many as many complain they lose their freedom after the 'third party' i.e baby enters into the family. However, we are glad we always get the full support of our in laws and parents who are always ever ready to help us take care of Jovin so that we can go on our couple dates. For your info, we've watched all the recent movies like Shrek 3, Pirates of the Carribbean, Spiderman etc and all were midnite! Our next date will be Transformers, followed by Die Hard, Harry Potter.... We always have our best couple friends, Junwei & Tingting whom we usually spend our weekends with. So, our frequency of meeting is like once per week. Unbelieveable rite? Yup, we are glad we have such good pals who are always there to provide us with the support and companion we need. We just feel so comfortable with them that we can talk anything under the sun. They also dote on Jovin a lot and always have fun playing with her. Yesterday, we spent our weekend supper with them as usual with Little Jovin. Jovin had a great time with them as well. Of course, she 'entertained' us with many of her humorous stints like trying to feed each of us, playing with the ice etc. James & I believe, our strong friendship bond with them will persist till our next generation. We are really blessed to have such great pals! So our weekends are never lonely as well :)

Ladies Chill Out Session!

It has been almost half a year since I last met up with my jiemei, Su yee & Jennifer. Both of them were my buddies when we were stil in the same organisation. Today, they've left me and I'm the poor soul still stuck in the same place, but our bonding remains strong as ever. Little Jovin tagged along with me. So we, the 4 women, had a great whale of time at Paragon last Friday evening. We had Japanese food at the basement. Had soba, soft shell crab, teriyaki salmon, chawamushi etc. Jovin wasn't that cooperative though that nite, mainly because she wanted to sleep as she missed her nap. However, I didn't bring along a pram. So she was throwing tantrums. I had a hard time pacifying her. We went to Coffee Club for cuppa and that's when Jovin finally 'knocked out' by the zzzz monster & fell asleep on the cushion. Peace finally! My 2 pals have both resigned in a short span of 6 months. Well, they were really unfortunate to have met unreasonable bosses and it was really so unbearable to the extent that they decided to leave. For me, I recently had a change in job scope though I've been with the organisation for 6 years. I lead a happier working life now cos I have a very understanding immediate superior. Though there's so much to learn, I'm glad I work in a happier environment now. Nonetheless, the gathering was a great one with great food as well, hehe. I'm glad I'm surrounded by many good friends. To me, friendship is really important and I will definitely cherish all the ties I've established with all my pals through the years. :)

Our Little Shrek!

Recently, we bought the 'Shrek' hairband from MACDONALDS for Jovin. All along, Jovin wasn't too keen in having hair accessories. However, to our surprise, she loves the green 'monstrous' hairband and allows us to put it on her. There were quite a number of kids wearing on the streets too. Hehe, Jovin just looks soooo adorable with the hairband. With the 'Shrek' fever still ongoing, she has been wearing the band on our recent shopping trips. For your viewing pleasure please on our 'Little Shrek'!

Father's Day Celebration for James

We had a Pre Father's Day celebration for James last Sunday. I treated him to a lavish buffet at Vienna restaurant. Pricing was rather exorbitant as it cost both of us $86. However, we enjoyed the spread like sashimi, crabs, lobster salad, crayfish etc. James gave it thumbs up! To our surprise, little Jovin loves salmon. We ordered teppanyaki salmon and she couldn't stop eating! Of course, we had great desserts like herbal jelly, cakes etc.We spent almost 2 hours at the restaurant and were so full to the extent that we couldn't walk haha. James thanked me for the wonderful treat and of course, Jovin was the happiest of all as she was able to enjoy all the spread free of charge!

The independent Jovin!

After the 4 trial lessons with Wiggle Learners, I've decided to enrol Jovin in the class solely under teachers' supervision. James & I felt that Jovin should be able to learn better and manage well without us in the class. The class was small with 7 pax so that the 2 teachers can pay full attention on these little kiddies. After a hug and goodbye kiss with Jovin, I left the classroom and roamed around at AMK Hub. Oh no, I spent money again. Well, with GSS around, it's really difficult to control but I used James's supplementary card, haha! Around 2.30p.m, James & I went to fetch our dear princess. Teacher Ho fedback Jovin was easily adaptable and independent despite her age. She's the youngest in the class, but proved to be a fast learner as she's already trying and succeded in a few attempts in self-feeding. Well, I did witness it for myself when we brought her to Macdonalds at nite and she was able to bring the sweet corn to her mouth! Many commented Little Jovin really takes after me as she's not afraid of strangers and loves to perform. Like mummy, like daughter :)

Fun-Filled Chalet!

We are back! We had lots of fun at the 3D2N chalet stay, especially the kids. On Wed afternoon, we checked in around 3p.m with my brother & Jerad. The bungalow was big and really spacious enough to accomodate our whole family. Jovin, as expected was busy going up and down the stairs which really made James & myself tired out. As my parents & sis's family would join us later, we decided to bring Jerad & Jovin to recee the place first. We went to the bowling alley, not to bowl hehe, but to grab some bites. Jovin had her scallop and tofu congee there as she sat on the couch watching the bowlers attentively. We went on to the indoor playground & both of them had so much fun as there were no other kids except for both of them. So they could have the whole place to themselves! Jovin almost let herself free & kept running, laughing, shouting etc. We went to the playpool & Jovin had so much fun with the water that she even did not want us to follow her. haha. Jerad & her were busy splashing water & she happily enjoyed playing with the water guns, water spout etc.

Parents & sis's family soon joined us around 6p.m. Things became alomost uncontrollable with the 4 monsters in unison, haha! We went to the newly opened Jumbo seafood at NSRCC. Food was good & we ordered quite a fair bit not forgetting our favourite chilli crabs! After the sumptous dinner, the whole family of us went back to the indoor playground. This time, with 4 of them together, Jovin had even more fun. The adults read papers, chatted, etc while our kids ran around like monkeys hehe... Dear & I were playing the PSP as Jovin enjoyed with her cousins. Nite time activity, needless to say, is MAHJONG! Mum helped us to settle the kids so that the adults can have their game. We played till 4a.m before we called it a day for day 1.

On Thursday morning, we were woken up by our darling Jovin as usual as she fiddled with my hair, kissed on my cheeks, called mummy so dearly till I couldn't bear to ignore her though I was dead tired. We had a simple breakfast and went to the playpool for a quick dip but didn't stay long as the heat was unbearable then. We went for lunch at Parkway Parade and shopped around till 3p.m before we made our way back to the chalet. Weather was favourable. We brought the kids to the outdoor playground. James & my brother played hide and seek with them, & the kids ran as though they were running for their lives haha! James & I went back for a short nap & passed Jovin to my siblings as we really needed a recharge. When we woke up, the kids were playing water bombs & Jovin happily held the empty ballons running around. We brought the kids for a swim around 5p.m and we went into the baby pool. We were apprehensive about Jovin as she cried the last time she went to the pool at my sis' condo. However, this time round, she's grown up and even walked steadily in the pool. She had fun splashing water, not afraid of water pouring from her head etc. Guess she's really grown up, not a baby anymore. We had dinner at Changi Village. The food was superb! We ordered the famous nasi lemak, stingray, fried noodles, rojak, satay etc. Had a taste of all the great dishes at one shot! As usual, we played mahjong after the kids were setlled but ended earlier as we were really too exhausted and kept dozing off halfway through the session.

We finally checked out this morning. The kids were so reluctant to leave. All of us enjoyed the family stay & the kids really had so much fun. It bonded our family even stronger than before & I'm realy glad I booked the chalet cos it's satisfying to see all of us so happy, especially my mum. She commented it was really more enjoyable than she had thought to be. I'm fortunate to be able to enjoy such family bliss & I hope such blissfulness will remain forever within our family. The chalet stay really strengthened our family ties and I look forward to more of family-bonding activities in the near future.
