Jovin turned 5 mths!

Frankly speaking, really had no idea why I wanted to blog today. But it just happened that I managed to complete my chores earlier & wanted to voice out some thoughts, though my darling is still yelling, 'ooing' & 'ahing' in her cot right now. Jovin has turned 5mths today! Still remember vividly 5 months ago, 30 Oct 05, she was trying to find her way out into this unfamiliar world & meet me, her mummy & daddy. From the tiny little 3.08kg gal, she has grown to be a loveable chubby gal at 6.8kg (last taken a month ago). I guess Jovin is progressing much faster than some of her peers cos she can actually roll over easily nowadays, stand & sit with support. We anticipate she should be able to walk before she turns one with her 'powerful kicking'. Our greatest wish for her is to see her growing healthily and happily, as what her Chinese name suggests, LELING. This weekend, we will be bringing her to East Coast Park to join in James's Family Day & Sun is her vaccination day again. Let's see if she can maintain her record of not crying after the injection. Well, she's sound asleep now. Quite a cooperative girl cos she can usually sleep by herself after murmuring with the soothing baby music.
To all my 2006 first time mummies- to -be out there, Yuling/Vivian/ Kim, do enjoy your pregnancy cos it's a wonderful feeling to have your baby inside your womb for the 40weeks. Though he/she may bring you discomfort at times, you will miss the kicks within you. I'm always there to offer advice & we can exchange tips :)
My friends kept asking me, when's my 2nd one coming along? Is it coming? Well keep on guessing & we'll keep u posted in the blog. But definitely not this year cos I still want to enjoy my svelte figure for more months before it balloons again! Haha, James, do you hear that?

FIRST TIMES!

There's so many first times in Jovin's life today. It's definitely not a normal weekend for our dear princess. One of her first times was going to the market with me & my mum & she was busy lurking around. Jovin had her first taste of plain white porridge specially prepared by her Ah-ma, my dearest mummy. I must really salute to my mum. She's able to cook the porridge till so fine & pureed that it really looks like milk powder to me! Jovin has been rejecting milk nowadays & we could only feed her when she feels tired or going to sleep soon. Else, it's a real headache & challenge to ensure she finishes her milk. Jovin enjoys her plain porridge so much though it's tasteless. Well, we guess she must have found it interesting able to taste something different. I really think I'm very fortunate to have both my mum & mother-in-law who are both experts in cooking baby food. Must really learn from them these few months. Her next first time was being complimented 'SO CUTE' by at least 5 people at the shopping mall today. Em, guess i should be proud of my gal eh? Guess Jovin's most treasured first experience today was having a go on the merry-go-round. The House of Js went to Bugis Junction & there was a little kiddy play centre within Seiyu. There were so many kiddy rides & games. We could see that Jovin was fascinated by all the bright-colored & the interesting sounds produced by all the game machines. We let her have a go at the horse merry-go-round. She couldn't stop giggling & was having lots of fun. This was the first time we ever see our dear girl enjoying herself so much. James & I intend to bring our dear Jovin to Genting after she turns one. But well, depending on her performance according to daddy James. Bet Jovin will be even happier when she goes to the Theme Park at Genting. Jovin, mummy has confidence in you. Prove to Daddy that you can make it :) Feel so happy that Jovin is now experiencing more new things in her life & she has become more responsive than ever. She has really brought so much love & joy to our lives. Now, I truly agree with & firmly believe what my mum always says " A family is never complete without kids."

Weekend Indoors!

We stayed indoors this Sat afternoon. So unlike us rite? Well. some of James's university mates came to our place. Besides Wenshan who had seen Jovin during Chinese New Year, 2 of James buddies, Riki & Sandro were one of the rare guests who had never seen Jovin before since birth. Jovin was happily playing with the 2 guys but she seemed to be more inclined towards Sandro, perhaps cos of his bigger build & she associated to Daddy? That was what we speculated. She was full of smiles & captivated the 2 guys' hearts. Sandro wanted to learn from us parenthood. Looks like we will receive a red bomb from him any moment :) All of us had an enjoyable afternoon. The guys were playing with PLAYSTATION, whereas the ladies (including Jovin too!) had a chit-chatting session. I was imparting my marriage & parenthood skills to Wenshan. See how happy Jovin was in the photos. Looks like her PR skills are good, takes ater mummy :) We went to Causeway Point KAMPONG DAYS RESTAURANT for a sumptous value set dinner & as usual, Jovin was rather cooperative & enabled us to eat in peace. Riki commented '' Your girl quite ok, doesn't seem too difficult to manage.'' Well, this is indeed true during meal times & nite times cos she cooperates & sleeps through the nite. But of course, there's tyrannical moments of her. You've yet to see. Haha! But on the whole, I really thank my girl for giving mummy sleep & rest. Darling, Mummy really appreciates it. Thks my dear princess :)

We had a late nite today. James & I had to attend one of my buddy, Yeo Leng's wedding. How time flies.... To think she was still one of my sisters during my wedding day. Her wedding brought back many fond memories of our own wedding in Jan 05 at Pan Pacific. This seems to be an especially auspicious year for weddings. I already have received 9 wedding invitations to date till end of year. Isn't that alarming figure? But I'm happy for all my friends who've found their better halves. Marriage is a wonderful union. The little additions to a couple will definitely bring more love & joy to the family. Sincerely, all from the bottom of my heart......& I have experienced & still very much experiencing. I know my dear friend Yeo Leng wishes to have kids soon too. Just hope that she & her hubby successfully complete their mission during Japan honeymoon, hehe. Go for it. my pal!

Exhibitions!

It has been nothing but exhibition viewing for the House of 'J's this weekend. We went all the way to the far-fetched S'pore Expo despite raining cats & dogs for BABY CARE FESTIVAL. James kept ranting about the heavy downpour & all the inconvenience but all was worth it as we managed to get an insight into many other baby products. Most importantly, I grabbed hold of the good bargain by paying $42/14 issues of MOTHER & BABY magazine. It's usually priced at $5. Sun afternoon, we went on to the IT show at SUNTEC. Goodness, it's packed with people as if everything is free! We decided to carry our girl as it's ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to push the stroller around. There's even so much difficulty in taking the lift. Luckily, our eyes were already set on the latest DVD Camcorder launch by CANON. We were pretty fast in making the purchase. Although priced at $1700, there were many more freebies like DVD player, memory cards, etc. Quite a good buy. Finally, my mind is rested with the camcorder bought. What's the purpose? Hehe, of course it's for shooting all the precious moments of our lovely little Jovin. I think it would be wonderful to be able to capture all these memorable milestones throughout her growth. This shot was taken by our camcorder. Looks good?

New Fancy Dress!

We had our weekly family dinner at Swensens tonite, though it was rather late around 8.30p.m. Most of the shops have already closed by the time we finished our meal at 9.30p.m. As usual, Jovin was very cooperative in allowing us to finish our dinner in peace. We had a quick shop & cast our eyes upon a cute little Osh Kosh dress. It's so lovely that we, to be exact, it's me, who decided to buy it. I immediately let my girl try on it & it fits perfectly though it stated 6-9mths. Err, she's actually underweight according to her padretician, though her chubby cheeks tell otherwise. She's 6.86 kg with 69cm length. Doctor said she's considered above average for her length, well genetic, I suppose? We took the photos as she was happily playing with the balloon. Seeing her giggles & innocent look always makes us feel like pinching her. Hehe..... Though only 4mths+ old, she already has a whole wardrobe of dresses, well contributed by many kind souls too. Suppose she looks more ladylike in dresses now?

Vaccination No. 2

Today it's 05 mar 2006. My Jovin's second vacinnation jab. As usual, the clinic is cramped with babies and toddlers on a Sunday morning. The wait is expected to be long. I think my Jovin has no problem with the jab except for the boring wait that nearly made her fell asleep. Here went the No. 11 flashing, our turn.

The jab was given. No cries. Just a " Aik"by her. It's settled. I think my Jovin got a pretty thick skin.

The next one will be due next month. I will blog again if something interesting pops up.
It's another Sat, 4th of Mar. We were browsing thru' our street directory, wondering where we could bring our sweeheart to this weekend. Finally, Compass Point at Sengkang brought to our attention. We seldom go to this neighbourhood. As such, we decided to make a trip down there. The mall was rather spacious indeed with all big departmental names like John Little, Metro etc. After a quick & hearty dinner at Sakura restaurant, we went for a quick shop. Our darling was so amused & it was a hilarious sight to see her playing with the big red balloon which was given to her by one of the shop owners. Whenever we brought the balloon close to her, she will burst out into chuckles, amusing us & even some of the shoppers! This shot was taken by James when she was happily playing & sitting on top of a play-train. We had such an enjoyable & fun weekend.

Full-Time Mummy Once Again!

Why this heading? U must be wondering... Last nite there was a whole day company event which lasted from morning till 10.30pm which leaves me no time to accompany my darling princess, Out of guilt, I decided to take leave today & spend my entire day with her. I really felt like returning to my days when I was on maternity leave. I bathed her, played with her & read story books to her. I even brought her to Junction 8 & had such an enjoyable time with her. The feeling is really that indescribable. How I wish everyday would be like this.... Jovin is now able to flip easily & communicates a lot. Though I can't comprehend, it's really heartening to cuddle her & see her loveable smiles when I fetch her after work. This is motherly love.................
