When we were couples, we used to go on double dates with our bets pals. Now as we are being promoted to parents, this doesn't deter our interest of organising joint outings together. So far, apart from frequent weekend link-ups, we have had gone on overseas travelling together and last Thursday, both familes arranged a combined date at the zoo!
All thks to our preggy Mrs Lim who long planned for the zoo trip with her exclusive staff pass. The gathering was made possible all thanks to her. Think both hubbies really grinned from ear to ear. The day before, it was raining cats and dogs and we were fearful our outing may need to be postponed. However, GOD really favoured us as the weather was exceptionally good that day. It was a cloudy day, perfect for outings!
Our 3 little ones were elated. They were already the best of buddies, just like siblings due to frequent outings. Children really never get sick of zoo trips. For Kaden, their last visit was merely in Feb haha! So our dear Junwei was so familiar with the various stops and even show timings and locations.
Upon our entry, as usualy, we were greeted by a friendly photographer and we had a great photo shot with our best pals. It used to be 4, now 7 and in 2 months time, it will be 8! Our friendship really rocks......
As we took a small stroll along the treks, we saw the various animals like flamingoes and parrots, sea turtles etc. We soon bought tram tickets and had a great scenery ride on it as it took us all the way to the wet playground area.
Jovin and Kaden rushed to the water slide excitedly. As for Jovan, he was intially apprehensive and merely squatted in a corner in his swimgear, but thanks to Uncle Junwei who gave him a helping hand, gave him the courage by taking him through the slide and our dear boy overcame the fear. He enjoyed himself immensely at the water park! The face expressions show it all.
We settled for quick bites at KFC. Instead of chicken, we had lots of egg tarts too which were yummy. Perhaps we were too starved......
We continued and went on the zoo expedition watching animal shows and not forgetting our 2 uncles' traditional kopi session at Ah Meng's cafe. The 2 princes had a quick nap too in their comfortable stroller. As for Jovin, she had the luxury of Ben & Jerry ice-cream. Just look at the satisfying look on her face...
The highlight of the trip was, the 2 daddies accompanied the 3 kids on the stinky elephant ride. The ride merely took around 5mins which charged $8/pax. Really exorbitant pricing but it was an unforgettable FIRST experience for the 2 daddies indeed.
We ended the day with a dinner date at Bishan. It was almost 8p.m then. All of us were exhausted. However, among all the zoo trips which we've been to, this was one of the most relaxing ones as we took much rest in between the walking. Compared to our pals, they commented this was the trip which they covered the most walking haha.
It was indeed an enjoyable outing with our best pals and of course their little Kaden. Our next tie-up would be soon in early April, probably homely activities or late night supper upon our dear Mrs Preggy Lim's request. Looking forward to the latest addition to our best pals' family and more combined fun activities!
