It's the first day of a brand new year! It's really a good long stretch of holidays this time round & we had ample rest so as to recharge ourselves for the new taskings ahead. James & I decided to visit the megastore - IKEA Tampines. Have heard so much of it but haven't been there to take a look for ourselves. We left around 7+ in the evening & my goodness, the car park was so huge. Despite that, it was still a challenge having to find an available lot. Well, we were considered quite lucky as we managed to secure a lot after 15 mins. The other challenge was dining. The whole of IKEA food court was almost packed & we had so difficult time searching for an empty table. Finally, managed to share the table with another Indian family. I was already starving but the queue for food was so long! Had to wait patiently for James...... Out of starvation, we finished all the food but it was delicious though!
As we browsed through the store, Jovin had her fair share on the slides & the wooden rocking horse. She was enjoying herself tremendously then. We went through the various sections. Actually pretty much similar to the one in Alexandra. Believe the publicity really achieved its aim by attracting all to Tampines. We didn't end up buying anything but a pack of batteries. Hehe, aren't we jokers? We intially intended to buy the famous IKEA hotdog before we left but the long queue put us off. In the end, we decided to head for home directly. Overall, it was quite an interesting visit. At least, Jovin enjoyed herself in the kids section. There were many ideas for kids bedroom decor though. We decided to 'steal' some of these ideas & revisit the store when the need arises for us to decorate our kids' rooms. Else, hehe don't think we will specially make a trip down again......
