Avenue of Stars / City Gate Shopping
Finally, we are one step nearer to the kids's favourite Disneyland! We checked out of Harbour Plaza Metropolis and the tour guide brought us to a local Chinese restaurant for great dimsum. We were so bloated by the end of the meal cos the servings were huge and of course, sumptous!
We went onto Avenue of Stars and took a stroll along the handprints of the famous celebrities, not forgetting to locate my favourite star, Andy Lau! After which, we proceeded to City Gate outlet, but we didn't buy much there cos it was nowhere compared to the U.S and Gotemba Tokyo factory outlets which we last visited. Nonetheless, still got myself a pair of Guess jeans and located some rare Ben-10 story books for Jovan!
We reached Disneyland!
We reached Hollywood Hotel around 2p.m and we were lucky to be able to check in on the spot. Wow, there's many Disney-related decor and souvenirs in the room, but the drawback was that it was so much smaller compared to our last hotel room. As it was only a day stay, we merely chucked our luggage one side and rushed to Disneyland via the shuttle bus.
The kids were elated and very excited upon reaching Disneyland. It was a long stroll from where we alighted to Disneyland. Jovan was tired, so dear had to carry him. So, the first thing that we did was to rent a stroller haha! Luckily, this time we were in luck! Jovan hopped onto his emperor seat without hesitation and took out his Ben-10 mini fan to cool himself down as we grabbed ourselves a seat to watch the Disney Parade starting at 3.30p.m.
Soon after the parade started and Jovin was so lucky to be chosen as one of the rara party to swing the colourful strings as the parade took place. We saw how the kids gazed at the various characters like Toy Story,Pooh Bear, Disney Princesses etc. Their eyes were really in for a feast!
After the parade, we commenced on our park rides. Dear and I first brought the kids to Tomorrowland and took the Astro Blasters ride. That was a perfect choice as our little ones loved the shooting game so much that we took the game 6 rounds in total, haha!
After which, as we were settling for our meals at the fast food restaurant, dear shouted "Hey, the astronaut is out for photoshoot!" So we immediately went to join the photoshoot queue. Luckily it was short, so we got hold of our 1st shot with the Toy story cast :)
After our 6 rounds, we proceeded to take other rides like Pooh rides, carousel, (really don't understand why the kids simply love this), Jumbo elephant, spinning tea cups ( which daddy took a total of 5 times with Jovin too!). However, the most courageous was Jovin who had her first ever experience on the roller coaster! Jovan couldn't meet the minimum height requirement of 107cm, but he did not allow Jovin and me to enter, so we had to sneak out once we finished the Jumbo elephant ride with him haha! Jovin's heartbeat got faster as we walked nearer the gate. The most hilarious part was, Jovin screamed even before the coaster set off haha which made the others laughed. The coaster was merely fast, jerky and in complete darkness. Worried that my little princess might cry but she made it! She was so brave.
However, she told me the moment we got off the ride " I'm still ok, mummy, I didn't cry, but so scary. I don't want to sit anymore. I think I will cry if it's longer..." That's my girl :)
We stayed till the fireworks display at 8.30p.m. It was really worth staying till the end to watch the spectacular scene. Jovin sat on my shoulders and enjoyed the show. Of course, it was tough on me but seeing the smiles on her face tells me this is definitely worth it. Dear and I didn't stay behind to watch the fireworks last time. This time, we managed to catch it with our kids, truly an unforgettable experience.
After the fireworks display, we stayed shopping in the souvenir shops and bought lots of momento, not forgetting my favourite collectible disney biscuit tins hehe. Also bought a couple of t-shirts for the family. Guess what, we were among the very last who left Disneyland and we reached Hollywood Hotel only at 11p.m! We were starving.... Luckily, there was a cafe in the hotel which was the medicine to our growling tummies. By the time we had our meals, it was 12a.m and the kids dozed off in their dreamlands......
Final episode continues......
