Yesterday, it was the first time our little 'J's had a up close and personal session with DINOSAURS! We pre-booked the DINOSAURS ALIVE exhibition tickets currently held at Science Centre. The kids had been yearning for it ever since the day I bought the tickets. We wanted to have our exclusive birthday celebration for our little Jovin before her actual day. So decided to opt for this.
The kids were excited early in the morning. We had Macdonalds breakfast, enjoyed 2 sets of Big Breakfast Deluxe and off we went to Science Centre! Carpark lots were not easy to locate due to the public holiday and we weren't that early haha.... Finally after some time, secured a good lot under shade. Our little 'J's were elated and both held our hands so tightly, haha they must have thought they were real dinosaurs! With the roaring sound effects, actions etc, it was a great experience for us.
Not easy to take pictures as little 'J's were busy moving from on exhibit to another, no time to pose. As we walked, the last stop even created a space for the kids to colour and trace out the dinosaurs template! Well, Jovin was very keen but not our little prince as usual. He'd rather enjoy viewing the dinosaur exhibits cuddled in his daddy's arms.
When we came out, we saw a huge dinosaur exhibit which allowed the kids to climb on and pose with it. Jovan suddenly threw tantrums, so we only managed to get Jovin to do it.
We proceeded next to Science Centre, and rented a stroller since it was free haha...( in case Jovan sleeps) The various Science exhibits indeed amused and attracted the kids' attention.
They had fun with magic mirrior, experimenting sounds, listening to their own echoes through echo tube. They had most fun out of "HEAD ON A PLATTER". The kids simply entered from another entrance and popped their heads out of a fruit platter which created the illusion they were without bodies, haha! They ran in and out of the tunnel several times!
Another exhibit which the kids stayed longer was the doing of fractions! We were surprised Jovan could stay there for almost 10 mins, simply choosing and mixing the correct proportions of the pizza to complete the whole pizza. With Jovin and my help, Jovan was so proud whenever he completed his mission. Hmmm, hopefully his interest sustains.......
Finally, we stopped for some light snacks when Jovan had fallen asleep in the pram. It was raining heavily then and Jovan seemed to be enjoying his beauty sleep so much. We continued to tour remaining exhibits like SPACE and ROBOTICS before we proceeded for our Omni Theatre show - The Flying Monsters at 6p.m. Our seats were among the last rows and Jovan was very cooperative throught the 45min show. Jovin asked many questions and Jovan even 'shooed' her, asking her to keep quiet haha... Dear and I found it a hilarious sight indeed. Towards the 2nd half of the show, Jovin fell asleep, guess she was really too exhausted. Jovan seemed to enjoy the show. He had ample nap, and remarked " Dinosaurs have so big wings, the monsters die already, dinosaurs fighting!" Guess this is really boys' cup of tea.
The kids had some more fun at the kinetc outdoor garden before we left. It was 7.30p.m by then and we merely rested while the kids roamed around till they were willing to leave. Went to nearby IMM for dinner. As our birthday princess wished, we opted for HongKong delicacies where the kids can have their favourite 滑蛋河粉. I asked if Jovin enjoyed the day. She said she was very happy but dead tired as well but would want to return since they didn't have a chance at the wet playground due to wet weather. Well, we would definitely be back since my membership is for 2 years.
Hmmm, it was indeed a memorable birthday trip for Jovin, especially hearing the dinosaurs 'roarrrrr'! We enjoyed the day as much as our little 'J's!
