Local hotel stays has always been one of our yearly activities, apart form the usual family vacation. Last weekend, we decided to give Changi Village Hotel a shot. All along, we have tried staying at the 5 star hotels in the buzzing town area like Pan Pacific, Fullerton etc. We couldn't make any time for overseas getaways during the 1 week break, so decided to take a breather with our kids at Changi Village Hotel.
Though it was only a night's stay, we were given the privilege to stay till late check-out hours at 4p.m due to exclusive promotion. The staff were very friendly and led us to the suite room which we reserved. The kids were thrilled and the lodging was indeed spacious with a great room view overseeing the beach and a see-through bath tub haha....
We first brought the kids to settle our starving and rumbling stomachs. We were surprised to see so much dimsum and they were really cheap and affordable. We orded wanton noodles, egg tarts, various dimsum. The food was really palatable and the kids even asked for second helping! We were really satsfied to be able to enjoy great food at incredibly cheap prices in times like these. Usually, we ate in town area that cost $4.50/bowl. But here, each plate merely cost at most $3! Good bargain for great food!
After that, we strolled towards the shops along the Changi Beach area. Guess what? We found Ben-10 toys which were rarely seen, so we got a Ben-10 gun for Jovan and another toy of Jovin's choice ( well, need to be fair). We spent some time walking toward the park too, but the kids are really pampered nowadays, complained of fatigue, sore legs, etc. so very soon after, we made a detour and returned to the hotel to enjoy the aircon. The kids were left to 'fend' for themselves running around, played in the empty bath tub, watched Cartoon Network.. Daddy and Mummy? Laid down and had a great nap on the comfy bed.
Night time, we went to Changi Airport where the kids had lots of space to roam freely. Jovan was the happiest as he saw the gigantic Ben-10 statue. He rushed to hug and cuddle him haha. Jovin? She enjoyed an art activity which was held in conjunction with the March holidays.
Dear even bought Jovan a SUPERMAN T-shirt which he had long promised our dear prince. Jovan was really elated that night. Therafter, Dear and I had a good chat while watching the 2 running around and enjoying the playground facilities.
The next morning, we headed for breakfast at the Executive Club Lounge. Both service and food were good. We chose to sit outdoors with great scenic view. We were accorded exclusive priority. Extra money really works wonders.....
We roamed around the hotel, took a sneak peep into their various facilities and amenities. Of course, we enjoyed the rooftop swimming pool. Too bad alas, not long after, rain started pouring down, so the kids chose to continue their fun in the room's bath tub haha playing bubbles!
Apart from swimming, we were surprised to see a playroom specially for the kids. Really thoughtful of them. So we brought them to have fun with the sand art, soft toys, wooden rocking horse etc. One of the hotel's journalist happened to be collating feedback and info for their monthly publication, so we gladly posed for her and she even interviewed Jovin haha! We really look forward to seeing the publication of the next month's issue of Changi Village Voices!
We had a great and enjoyable stay and if time permits, we really don't mind returning to rejuvenate and recharge ourselves. I strongly recommend to all my dear friends. It's a child friendly with great hospitality services provided. Counting down to our next getaway!
