Hohoho... Merry X'mas 2009!

As in past years, we've always had 3 X'mas party celebrations. As of now, we have attended 2 parties and still one more to go on New Year's day - our belated X'mas family gathering. Due to packed schedules, my family has decided to hold the celebration on New Year's day instead. For the past 2 X'mas parties, we've had much fun and enjoyment with our long-time pals i.e Dear's SMU pals and our JC CLDDS pals. We have really come a long way in our friendship, especially the JC group ever since our graduation in 1995!

Part 1: X'mas Eve Celebration (SMU Pals) @ Our Place

We had a cosy and fun-loving group at our place this X'mas Eve. Our little 'J's were spoilt for presents from the doting gorgor and jiejies. It was a potluck gathering as usual and there were potato wedges, pizzas, KFC, dimsum etc.

Jovan was more interested in the delicacies compared to his sister. Thks to Krist, he got a nice Bentetton Polo T-shirt and was engrossed in playing with the yoyo which Cuiling bought for them. But boys are indeed boys. The yoyo was dismantled within minutes. Oh my! The hilarious sight was that, I already told Jovin beforehand Krist was buying her the Barbie and the 3 musketeers and she was so excited in unwrapping the present. Alas, it turned out to be a bath towel and she looked at me blankly '' Mummy, where is my Barbie? Inside the towel?'' Haha... Krist intially panicked too and thought he mistook someone else's gift at Taka. In the end, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. He left Jovin's present in the car instead and brought the wrong present from his car due to similar rectangular box shape haha! Jovin was elated when Krist brought the real Barbie for her and she even hugged and kissed Krist which made our dear friend so happy.

After a hearty meal, it was almost 10p.m! We decided to have the gift exchange session first as Cuiling and Gaowei needed to leave early. Our little 'J's were such eager helpers to arrange the presents and busy with presenting the presents to the adults hehe... James and I got Ber and Wen's presents which were Aussino kids bedsheets haha, so perfect for us! We had some great X'mas shots before our dear newly weds left. Hmm, not bad for self-taken shot and we only attempted once! The best part was the dessert which Yuanyi brought -Almond longan cheesecake. It was really fantastic and the longans were wiped off within minutes! After which, we had WII session where the kids and men were crazy over it. But that gave me some freedom to chat with Wenshan and Yuanyi for ladies talk hehe. It was a fun night and we arranged to meet up at Cuiling's place on New Year's Eve for another round of endless fun and entertainment.

Part 2: X'mas Celebration (27 Dec 09) @ Yuling's Place

Last night, we gathered at Yuling's place for our annual X'mas meet-up. Yuling pre-booked a BBQ pit but it was drizzling and so, kids and women hid in the function room, taking care of the kids while the men helped out at the bbq pit, doing all the hardwork, not forgetting our swinging bachelorette, auntie Bao and the kids-doting pair, Jinny and Chee Leong. Jovin was the eldest among the 6 kids and she had so much fun with Justin. Both were like good old friends, hugging and cuddling each other hehe. The kids made so much noise pushing the chairs and Jovan even took off his shoes and ran about in his socks. I had to run after him, for fear he might knock and fall.

Soon, we kick-started the pot-luck first as our dear hubbies and friends brought us the bbq chicken wings, fishballs, otah etc to complement our fried beehoon, curry, sushi etc. Jovin and Jovan sat beside me as I fed them with the bee hoon. Jovan ate so fast that I could even hardly keep us with his pace! Jovin later had her own plate of food and enjoyed eating the chicken wing. Soon after, all were back in the function room and Baoling commented CLDDS is starting to function as a child-care centre haha!

As all were busy with our kids, the adults hardly had time to chat but we were busy snapping photos of our little ones instead. Perhaps we were too hungry and finished almost all the food! Soon it was time for gift exchange. We displayed the kids gifts according to their names on the table and all were so happy and excited to see the colourful wrapped presents all for them! As for the adults, we got our our best couple pals's presents! What a coincidence! Haha, but Tingting said both gifts were more appropriate for me haha! Luckily all had big plastic bags to pack the goodies back.

Last but not least, we feasted on our X'mas log cake and all posed before we cut up the beautiful cake. Individual families and couples took turns to take the photos and it actually took us quite a while before we settled down to cut the cake hehe. The cake was delicious, especially Jovin who secretly kept eating the white chocolate till we had to put a stop to it.

Baby Kaden was getting a bit cranky as it was time for him to sleep. Sigh, I didn't manage to carry him in my arms and take nice photos with him but dear did! He was so proud and kept bragging that Kaden prefered him to me. Chey! But we managed to take some group photos with the Lim Family though :)

It was a great X'mas annual event and before we left, our dear Jinny even reminded us of our next event i.e CNY reunion dinner in end Jan and next year's CNY visting will be at my place in conjunction with Jovan's birthday too which falls during CNY! Really glad we are surrounded by all these wonderful long-time schoolmates and looking forward to more upcoming gatherings and little ones ( definitely no more contribution from us haha) !
