Every year without fail, we usually need 2 weekends for CNY visiting. This year, our last stop was SMU CNY gathering at Jasmine's place. All of us have been too caught up with hectic work schedules, so couldn't find a common time to gather all most of the time. Last night, it was our first time seeing them since their wedding in Dec 09!
After Jovin's class, we set off for their place in Simei and we were the second guests. Long-time no see Guimei and Gary and of course their latest addition, Kiran. It's been quite a while since we carried and cuddled young babies. So dear and I were ''fighting'over cuddling Kiran, haha! He was really an adorable child who's not afraid of strangers. The saliva, milky baby smell really brings back fond memories. We exchanged small talks over child rearing and being experienced parents of two, we had no problems carrying the baby compared to Cuiling who fumbled and sought S.O.S when we placed Kiran in her arms haha.
We had the opportunity to savour great soba noddles specially prepared by our hosts, Jas and Tony. We loved the soba so much, coupled with nuggets, BBQ wings. It was really a time to feast! Our little 'J's as usual, were entertained by i-phones and i-pad so we could eat in peace and Guimei and Gary were really envious of us. So we helped them to entertain Kiran as they could then eat in peace.
Our final guests, Yuanyi and Wenshan arrived around 8pm and brought sumptous fried rice and charsiew, roast meat from Crystal Jade. All of us had the usual louhei but it was a vegetarian one with no raw fish haha cos Cuiling just grabbed one from NTUC, didnt know it was just the condiments haha... Nonetheless, we had fun and all the toto winning, ,make big bucks wishes came pouring out as usual. Of course, our little 'J's had another round of louhei fun and they were so professional.
After dinner, Little Kiran had to make a move first while the rest of us continued. Tony was a great guitarist and kids lover. He entertained our little 'J's with his songs with rest of the hubbies, while we ladies took a breather and gossiped about wedding ,marriage life, renovation, pregnancy etc. We didn't realise we chatted till 11.30p.m!
Although they were dear's uni friends, but I am very at ease and familiar with all of them too as though I'm from SMU alumni too haha. I'm glad to have made these great accquaintances through dear. Apart from JC CLDDS pals, they are another group of long-time great trusting pals. Friendship rocks!
