We chose to dine at the nearby coffeeshop for our long-time favourite zicar dishes. Brother had already pre-ordered the dishes last week and this time round, what made it special was that, we requested for a small table to be arranged for the kids whereas we, the adults could enjoy our meals heartily on another table. A great suggestion indeed :)
After a hearty meal, we proceeded to my brother's place and brought the kids downstairs for the fire sparklers. Jovan was no longer afraid of the sound and sparkles. He was so brave and held the sticks all by himself and was enjoying heartily. The kids had more fun at the playground after the sparkles. All of them were all sweating, especially Jovan who really looked as though he just had a shower, haha!
Back at brother's place, we had Bingo and even got our parents to join in the fun! Jasmine even prepared presents for the winners and guess what? Jovin was the overall winner for the night as she won twice! I wasn't too bad either, emerged as the winner for the first round!
The highlight of our gathering was a family birthday celebration for our dearest daddy James who turns 3X! Got a strawberry shortcake for him and we sang the song for our dearest one. Dear was so embarassed as he said it really felt weird to hear so many singing birthday song for him hehe..... The cake was delicious and we wiped out every bit of it, including the giant strawberries on the cake!
Of course, the kids' long-awaited gift exchange came..... At 11,15p.m, all were so anxious to know what presents they had. There were NERF guns, t-shirts, pretty disney princessy accessories, drum set, Ben-10 etc. All the 5 giggled non-stop. They were definitely the happiest cos there's no need to do homework, just eat, play and get presents!
We made our way back nearing 12a.m. We had such a special way of New Year countdown. We did the countdown in the car with our little 'J's as daddy was driving home. And guess what? Sis's car happened to be beside us at a traffic junction and we wished one another Happy New Year 2012 through the windows haha... So interesting and indeed memorable way to welcome 2012.
2011 has come to an end. 2012 has just begun.... What's in store for us? Something to ponder........
