The Attack of CHICKENPOX!!!

It all happened on last Fri nite, 14th of July. I was happily enjoying my boss's farewell dinner at Jumbo restaurant when my handphone rang. Hearing my mother-in-law's voice at this hour isn't a positive sign. As expected, she informed me Jovin was running a fever. I immediately had to give up all the unserved crabs, scallops etc & dashed straight for home. James & I brought her to Ang Mo Kio Baby Clinic to see a doctor. Guess what doc said? Your girl is down with CHICKENPOX!!! What? At such a tender age of 8.5 months? She was given the suspension medicine, ZOVIRAX, to suppress her full outbreak of chickenpox as doctor said she was too young, afraid full effect may be over-bearing for her, thus affecting her organs. The medicine alone cost us $219!!! For the next few days, we expected to see more outbreak of her spots but her body was almost as clean as a sheet. Her fever didn't recover till yesterday. She's now actively jumping around, really doesn't look like one who's down with chickenpox. But we decided to keep her confined for this weekend too till the 10th day is up as advised by doctor. Judging by this so'called chickenpox experience, guess most probably she may suffer another attack when she grows up. Nevertheless, a totally new experience for James & myself. That's the end of 'CHICKENPOX' story. This weekend, House of 'J's shall continue to stay indoors. We'll be back with the active chubby little Jovin Chow!
