Today, we had a real long day out since 11.30a.m. We first headed for Thomson Plaza Peach Garden Restaurant to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. It was a simple family birthday celebration and we chose the place as we preferred somewhere near. Thomson Plaza is a change compared to the usual J8 and AMK Hub.As we were early, brought the kids to roam around the area before we stepped into the restaurant. Hehe, the short shopping was rewarding as I bought myself a pair of evening shoes which I really liked it. So $62.90 just parted with me in a span of few minutes hehe.
Luckily we made a reservation beforehand cos the queue was horrendous. My in-laws soon joined us along with James's siblings. As we were hungry, we ordered almost all the dim sum items. Erm, some were indeed above average but some dishes were really below par, like xiao long bao, chee cheong fun. I think it's definitely not worth the pricing. Jovin was a real sweebie as she went to hug and wish my mother-in-law happy birthday. The 2 kids were very cooperative till the last part when Jovan screamed and threw tantrums as he wanted to sleep and I kept his cutlery set when we were about to leave the restuarant. My in law managed to pacify and calm him down and he soon fell asleep as we parted with our in-laws.
Part 2: Jacob Ballas @ Botanic Gardens

We stayed for a while at Thomson Plaza, fed Jovan the porridge after his nap before we proceed with the next program we had in store for the kids i.e Jacab Ballas @ Botanic Gardens! We reached there around 3.30p.m. Both little 'J's were all donned in casual wear and sun-glasses. As James parked at the wrong car park, so we walked a rather long route to the garden and the weather was rather hot. Jovin soon couldn't tahan and as usual, I had to carry her. So now u know what's the secret to my slimming success? It's really no easy feat to carry a 14kg girl on top of me!

Of course, I didn't carry her throughout, but as soon as she came down from my shoulders, she ran and hurt herself accidentally, incurring a slight abraison on her right hand. Jovin immediately burst into tears but she calmed down soon after as James carried her and I treated her to cookies and cream ice-cream! She soon burst out into laughter and regained her usual jovial self.

As soon as we entered the garden, the kids plunged their way into the water play-area. Both simply let themselves loose and had so much fun playing with the water and fountain. Both were intially apprehensive about getting themselves wet but in the end? Totally drenched! The photos are self-explanatory.....

It wasn't easy getting the kids out from the water area but luckily no big screams and wailings as they played for quite a while before we cleaned them up. After the change of clothes, we proceeded to explore other parts of the garden, like food-making process area, introducing banana trees to the kids, walking on the crooked and swinging bridge, watching the water fountain etc. The kids really had an enjoyable time.
On our way back to the car park, we managed to place both kids in the pram together and Jovan was so cheeky and naughty cos he kept 'bullying' jiejie. Jovin was trying hard to shun away from his sudden kicks and hugs from behind. But at least it convenienced both James and I as we need not carry any one of them as we pushed them back all the way back to car park.
We concluded the visit to Jacob Ballas was very meaningful and interesting but both of us were dead exhausted from all the carrying and running around. James said it was a very good slimming session haha. To compensate for the lost energy levels, we had a good Thai meal at AMK Hub food court and our last program was the day to finalise our buy for a LCD TV to be placed at our room in Bishan as our first LCD TV has finally retired after 5 years of service. It was really a very fulfilling and rewarding Sunday spent. It's Monday tomorrow and gotta work but will count down to weekend to motivate myself. Will plan some program for next weekend Lantern festival :)
