Dear finally turned 3X! On 2 Jan 0000 hours, our dearest little 'J's specially arranged a mini birthday surprise for daddy. Together with mummy, we secretly arranged the candles on the toy birthday cake toy and hand in hand, they brought the cake to daddy as they sang the birthday song. Daddy was soooo surprised and touched by his little dearest 'J's....
On Sun 2 Jan, upon dear's request, we went to Junction 8 Japanese Watami restaurant to celebrate dear's birthday. This was dear's first time to the restaurant. We ordered many dishes by our birthday 'BOY'. Verdict? It was an excellent lunch!
The kids loved the sizzling tamago with fried chicken katsu best. The crispiness of the katsu and the sticky tamago goes so yummy with rice. I ordered a salad for myself, coupled with assorted skewer platter and cream scallop croquettes. Of course. not forgetting brownie dessert to complete the meal. Our tummies were soooo bloated!
This year, instead of buying a cake for daddy, we brought the kids to ICING ROOM and let the kids had a go at decorating the cake for daddy. Haha, it was intially ok with legible birthday wordings. However, as Jovin squeezed more cake icing onto the cake, all wordings were gone! As for Jovan, he ate the star mini icing biscuits as he helped to place the stars on the cake as decor, haha. It was a real hilarious sight. But most importantly, dear commented this was one of the unique and most memorable cake he has ever had in his entire life. Most importantly, this was a special effort by our little dearest ones.
At night, we had the cake celebration as we sang the song and the kids had a hand at cutting the cake with daddy. Though the cake did not look beautiful, it was delicious and this cake size was appropriate for the 4 of us. In our hearts, this cake is the most beautiful cake in the whole world.
As for dear's present, I bought a shirt for him as dear is a practical man, so this would come in handy as he switches to his new job. Happy birthday, our dearest daddy and hubby, we love you more than anybody :)
