Clarke Quay Once Again!

Last Sun, we finally fulfilled our wish of eating the Taiwanese road snacks. We went early this time round and reached there at 5p.m, when the stalls just operated haha! No problems with parking, had ample space to walk about. Jovin had lots of opportunities to pose with all the 12 animal zodiac signs!

The food queue was still long nonetheless, but so much better compared to the last round we came. We bought $30 worth of food vouchers and sampled most of the snacks like coffin bread ( milky mixture with ham, carrots etc. on deep fried golden bread), prawn rolls, lor mee etc. We stood, squated, sat at any corner we could find. Haha, but it was a truly unique experience we didn't have in the past. Dear queued real long for the bubble tea while we had the luxury to sit by a corner to savour the wonderful prawn noodles. Heehee, the noodles was so tasty that we didn't save any for daddy hehe. But daddy managed to buy some more food and we really had a good meal.

Finally, we fulfilled our wish. The kids were cooperative fortunately and they love the food. Hmmm, really rekindles our Taiwanese memories. Sigh, not sure when we have the opportunity to visit there again...... Guess probably not in the near future since I just started my NIE school term. Well, shall continue to dream of my Taiwanese food....

A Date With The Gundams!

Dear has always been an ardent Gundam lover. Well, despite he still had an uncomplished Gundam model costing $200+ which he has yet to lay his hands on since many, many years ago. (Well, friends who know us well would know the reason for the delay in assembling the model haha)!So, we went all the way to Compass Point just to fulfil dear's wish and caught a glimpse of all the huge, small, mini etc. models o display. Well, I'm really not a keen supporter of this, so merely busy taking shots here and there, hehe.





However, the models were really awe-inspiring. Our little 'J's had the opportunities and laid their hands on assembling some simple Gundam models.





Little 'J's were so engrossed with the toy assembly. Looks like they have inherited some of daddy's Gundam genes. Of course, we posed beside the gigantic models too. Dear helped our little ones with the assembling too since he's defintely better at this than me.





Well, Gundam is never my cup of tea, but at least Dear gets to see all the great worksmanship, just like he would always accompany me to get Precious Moments figurines. Hmm, just wondering when he would ever lay his hands on the $200+ Gundam model which is still lying in my storeroom...... Waiting for Jovan? To assemble or destroy? Haha.....Waiting patiently for the day the Gundam model is born.....

Lanterns By The Clarke Quay!

Last night, we had a wonderful outing with the kids at the Clarke Quay. What interest us intially was the Taiwan Food Festival which we saw from the news on Thursday night. Dear and I really found our last trip to Taiwan unforgettable, especially the food. Thus, we decided to make a trip there with the kids.

When we reached there, to our horror, roads and lanes were all over-flooded with people and cars. There was simply no way we could park at the Central Mall. Only then we realised the lanterns display and some Chinese cultural events and performances were held there too. That explains the crowd. After several u-turns and frustration, dear finally found a lot at the nearby Riverside Mall. Phew, guess what, the kids already had a good sleep and rest in the car. They were fully charged!

It was another challenge as we walked through the crowds. However, the lanterns and lightings were indeed fascinating and dazzling which captured both our little 'J's attention. The 12 animal zodiac signs were put on display as well and we managed to capture shots with our respective zodiac signs respectively, as well as took a peep at the fortune forecast.





Haha, choose to believe the good ones and discard the bad ones.

As said, our intial intention was to taste the Taiwanese snacks. However, there was just too much crowd at all stalls and we even had to buy vouchers before we could buy any food. Goodness! Each of us carried our little ones and squeezed through the crowd.

As we were famished, we simply walked into a Thai restaurant, though we knew the prices were above average. But we really didn't want to search for other eateries. Thus, we just sat in the restaurant, waiting to be served. Well, ambience was good. Food was indeed good. Though expensive, but we truly enjoyed the meal and the kids too! They loved the Phad Thai and Pandan Chicken! From a simple meal, we ended up spending nearly $100 for a meal. But dear said it's ok since he's just gotten his commission hehe :)3 cheers for daddy!





We were all recharged with our tummies full. We had Hagen Diaz as our dessert. As we walked, we shared the ice-cream. It was simply family blissfulness. We browsed through the push-carts, chanced upon a performance where the performers were doing a publicity stint for F1 Race. We too joined in the crowd and watched the performance. Seemed like acrobatic performance as the ladies were tossed up and down by the male performers and our kids were really appalled by the stunts.

We bought a colourful 'magic' ball for the kids which would automatically turn small once it touched the ground and both had fun as they kicked the ball along on the ground. We had the opportunity to walk along other shops, but just still couldn't lay our hands on the Taiwanese snacks, though we could smell the 臭豆腐from far. Our dear Jovin couldn't stand the smell though and told us to leave quickly haha!





It was a pity we couldn't taste the Taiwanese snacks but we decided to return another day much earlier at 5p.m (stalls' starting time!) so that we can fulfil our wish hehe. But it was a great night spent after all with the kids. We had a great night taking photo shots with the dazzling lights and guess what, as there was ample space where we waited for the lift to the car park, we had a great ball game with our little 'J's before we left home. It was merely ball-kicking like soccer. Dear and I were the goal-keepers with males vs. females haha! It's been long since dear and I played such ball games! I've video-taped the scene cos I believe this will definitely serve as cherishable memories for us in future :)

Private Bonding Moments with Jovan!

This week happens to be my 1 week break before I start school in NIE next week. On Thursday, after I've sent Jovin to school, I decided to bring little Jovan to Marina Square as I realise I usually had more private moments with Jovin compared to Jovan.

On the MRT ride, Jovan was very energetic and he was very cooperative, but he soon fell asleep on my shoulders. As I was still pondering if I should settle for a restaurant where there is sofa couch, I was 'stalked' by a bank financial planner. Well, as I had time to spare, I took part in their lucky dip and sat down listen to his preachings but the guy was very amiable, so as I sat on the chair, Jovan was happily lying on my shoulder and I took the opportunity to rest. Guess what, after the conversation, Jovan woke up and my problem was resolved as he was willing to walk. Thank god, my arms were spared!

I brought Jovan to Macdonalds and both of us enjoyed kids meal, burger, fries, etc. Jovan enjoyed the great food and couldn;t stop eating the corn and nuggets. After that, we did some shopping. I bought a business shirt for dear. Jovan kept running in the shop and entertained himself. I brought him to the indoor playground where he had so much fun as he was the only one! He was the king!One moment, I see him on the slide. Another moment, he was on the animal rides. After that, he continued to have fun at Kiddy Palace, trying his hands on all the toys on display.

It was a great afternoon spent with my dear Jovan. Although he can be naughty at most times, but there's always this adorable side of him that makes him even more loveable and makes me even want to dote on him more. That's my little prince Jovan :)

My First Teachers 'Day Dinner!

I had my first ever Teachers'Day dinner on Tue night at Bukit Batok Civil Service Club. Ás I embark on my NIE journey next week, the Teachers'day dinner was very meaningful to me. It was really a night of enjoyment and considered a farewell night for me by my school colleagues.

Intially, I did't want to attend as it was straight after my NIE Orientation programme and it was rather troublesome, having to make prior arrangements with my colleagues to ferry my clothing and shoes to the dinner. However, my colleagues finally persuaded me to go. Considering the great relations established with them over the past 9 months, despite having to go through the trouble of bringing toiletries to bathe at the club etc, I finally relented and I must say, I did not regret having to go through all the trouble.



It was themed Hollywood Night. All of us were dressed in the most formal wear. Pre-activity was photo-taking for most of us. I took many farewell shots with my department as well as other great fellow colleagues. The programme was great and really provided much entertainment and many memories as we looked at the flashback video production. However, the only regeret was I did not manage to win any lucky draw prizes haha!

It was a great night indeed and due to busy photo-taking after dinner, my poor dear hubby had to wait almost 45 minutes for me hehe but he still did not complain. Thks dear! I will definitely remember Sembawang Sec School, my great colleagues and the teachings and advice that I've learnt from all. I believe my teaching and learning experience here would definitely serve as a solid foundation for my future teaching career. Thks to all!
