The Joy of Feasting!

We had a great weekend and indulged in great delicacies, all thanks to CNY!

Yesterday evening, James brought Jovin and me to one of his client's place for CNY visiting at Seletar. They were an elderly couple who were very friendly and stayed in a wonderful landed property with a nice garden. They were very fond of Jovin and I was so afraid that Jovin would turn their place upside down and tire the old lady host as Jovin was so chummy with the old lady that she kept holding her hands, asking the old granny to bring her upstairs. We had a great chat with the elderly uncle and they treated us to a great Nonya dinner. It was a cosy restaurant and the ambience was amicable. Jovin was very mischievious though and James and I had a hard time controlling her. Luckily, she quieted down as she loved the non-spicy beancurd and meatball soup. Jovin loved the couple so much that she refused to leave after dinner. She was wailing and throwing tantrums as we drove away. Was telling James this couple was really cute. They seemed to be keep nagging and harping on each other, yet can sense their care for each other through their words. For example, the wife kept complaining her hubby shouldn't order so much spicy stuff since his health is not very good, her hubby simply kept mum and allowed the wife to keep on nagging. In the end, the wife still allowed the hubby to feast as she knew it's her hubby's favourites. Wonder what would become of James and myself when we reach their stage? Will we be like them too? But it's heartening to see them so loving towards each other.......

On Sunday night, my family went for lou-hei session at Mellben Seafood @ Ang Mo Kio. Dear highly recommended it as he has been there before. We reached there early around 5.30p.m, yet to our surprise, there was already a long queue! Luckily we didn't have to wait for long before the delicacies were served. We orded many dishes like butter crabs, wheat prawns, scallop, etc. All were really so delicious. However, the sad thing is I couldn't eat the crabs due to my mum's disapproval. Her theory? Having crabs during pregnancy will cause the foetus to be naughty in future. Erm, I recalled I didn't take crabs during last pregnancy too. But result???? Think dear Jovin is equally naughty and up to mischief, haha! Neverthelss, being a fillial daughter, I gave the crabs a miss. It was a great dinner, especially the part when we lou hei and we wished for best of health, smooth labour for myself, do well in studies for my niece and nephews etc. My parents commented this was a great place and we can come back more often. Hehe, thks to Dear for his recommendation. Told dear to bring me here after I've given birth to whack the crabs haha!
