CNY Eve!

Every CNY Eve without fail, we would have our dinner at 2 places i.e both our parents's place. This year, we had our first dinner at mum's place first for a change. As both dear and I didn't have lunch, so we were extremely hungry as we reached mum's place. The dishes were almost set for dinner on the table. Jovin and I stole a few bites of the abalone and fried sotong ball hehe. As we were waiting for brother, we took some shots of our 2 little 'J's and had fun playing WII games.Soon, brother's family reached and we started to have our first feast. Perhaps we were really too hungry, so the dishes looked so palatable and Jovan happily fed himself with rice, crabsticks, fish slices etc. He really enjoyed himself heartily and didn't create any trouble. Food could really quieten him down haha!

Jovin had beehoon, her favourite crabsticks, took the soup and she loved abalone so much just like mummy hehe. All of us sat down and told the kids what's reunion dinner is all about. Had fun chit-chatting over dinner and really felt blissful and this is what family warmth is all about. Soon after around 8 p.m, we proceeded to my in law's place for second round. We were almost 3/4 full but still ate some delicacies like sambal cod fish, stewed abalone etc. My mother-in-law can really cook well indeed and we loved the dishes a lot. As we hardly got to meet my brother in law and his wife, it was a good opportunity to meet up and chat over the reunion dinner.

Jovin and Jovan had fun with my brother-in-law's doggie. They played ball and 'catching ' games with the dog. The dog entertained them much so dear and I could take a breather hehe. Jovin is now no longer afraid of dogs and even dared to carry her. Haha, better than me. As for Jovan, he dared to play with the dog but still a bit afraid when he went near her. Both ran and shouted so much as they played with my sister in law and the dog. It was a great bonding session for the family through the dog.One hilarious sight was the gongxigongxi CNY greetings when Jovin tried to ask the dog to greet her but she didn't manage, only my sis-in -law managed to do it. The dog was cute as she posed for the greetings and our little 'J's find it very amusing.

My mother-in-law gave angpows to our 2 little ones, including us haha! Married ones still entitled to angpows huh... Jovin passed the angpow to me but Jovan threw it into the dustbin, thinking it was only paper haha! Jovin immediately picked it up and passed to me. Told Jovin she must help didi for the next few days to ensure he doesn't throw it into the bins hehe. We then joined our parents and brother's family in going to the temples for praying. Last year, Jovan was too young to understand and he couldn't really walk. This year, he was full of energy and mum led him into the temples, taught him how to kneel and clasp his hands together to pray. At times, he even giggled so much that we had to 'smuggle' him out quckly. Jovin and Jerad were like 2 pious believers, kneel and bowed to thr gods so religiously.

Guangmingshan was very beuatifully lit up with the colourful lights and the kids were fascinated by it. We had our meesua and longetivity buns after the praying session to symbolise prosperity and blessed life. After that, we went home and the kids were still wide awake at 1a.m! I changed them into the new pyjamas suits I bought them and finally managed to get them to sleep rather easily. Going to be a new day and gonna getting ready my kids for the CNY next few days.

Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous CNY! 新年快乐,万事如意,虎年行大运!
