We had a wonderful Father's Day outing on Saturday. After the drama performance by Jovin, we continued and went to Botanic garden where we went to Jacab Ballas and met up with my sis's family at Great World for dinner. That was Part 1 and we had an enjoyable day indeed.
Yesterday, instead of the usual squeeze and queues, we decided to buy take-away, all dear's favourite food from fast food, food court, restaurant etc and enjoy the all-in-one dinner at our cosy house. In the end, we bought sushi, Pizza Hut's honey wings, MOS Burger Teriyaki etc. It was fun buying all the food back and all of us loved it! We did not care how oily or ugly we looked and merely enjoyed the meal to the fullest. Dear enjoyed his salmon bento from Ichiban while I savoured the sushi too. The kids ate Teriyaki chicken burger. All of us were simply enjoying the food, watching TV programmes in the comfort of our own place.
Jovin and Jovan hugged daddy and Jovin said Happy Papa Day to Dear which made him even happier. It was a simple family celebration but meaningful. Dear entered fatherhood since 30 Oct 2005, the day he first held Jovin in his arms and since then, he has learnt all the ropes and undergone the shit and pee haha. I vividly remembered dear screamed for me the first time he saw the shitty mess on Joivn's diapers when Jovin was merely 2 months old. He was totally put off by the sight and smell as Jovin's clothes were all smeared by the shit. However, without complaint, he still did his part by washing his little princess's shitty clothes and of course, through these little episodes he learnt and understood what fatherhood was all about.
Soon after, little Jovan was bestowed upon us on 28 Feb 08. Dear was very caring during this pregnancy and shouldered most of the responsibilities to take care of Jovin and made it a point to accompany me for all checkups which really touched me. When Jovan was born, he had to be admitted for jaundice, followed by another admission due to a minor surgery all during the first month. As a daddy, dear did his best to juggle his work and took care of Jovin since I had to be warded in hospital. It was a weary period for both of us and indeed caused a lot of unhappiness but both of us matured through the parenting journey.
We've been through all the ups and downs, we are really blessed that god has really treated us really well by giving us a pair of boy and girl and they are truly jovial. I could see dear has taken a gradual change in his character ever since he has the 2 little 'J's. Everytime he returns from work, no matter how tired he is, he will make it a point to spend some time with the kids be it just a simple hug, piggy-back them or playing I-phone games with them. He tells me the 2 little 'J's greetings always brightens up his mood whenever he returns from work.
Dear, I know you are still trying hard to be a great daddy. No doubt there's still room for improvement, you 've done well and no matter what, our little 'J's and myself will always stand by you.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DADDY JAMES!
