Dear has been smiling from ear to ear yesterday as his precious princess has given him a wonderful Father's Day present this year! For the past week, Jovin has been attending drama classes at ACT 3 Academy, practising and rehearsing really hard, memorising her lines, remembering her steps just for the big show yesterday afternoon.
Yesterday afternoon, the House of 'J's were all at the drama theatre to support our dear princess's debut drama performance in the play 'Wizard of Oz'.
It was a wonderful performance put up by the kids. Our dear Jovin played dual roles as a scarecrow as well as a poppy flower. Her costume was so hilarious and dear and I could see that our girl was very proud of herself as she remembered her lines and spoke all by herself on the stage!
Jovan was excited to see jiejie on stage and kept calling jiejie and waved to Jovin. Dear and I were amazed Jovan could actually sit through the 45 min performance! Dear felt so heart-warming to see Jovin act on the stage and as I videoed her show, I could see dear was so happy to see his dear princess waving to him and he was paying full attention to the show, despite having to juggle with Jovan at the same time.
Dear commented it was really a wonderful Father's Day gift for him as this was the hard work by Jovin for the past 5 days. It's a special feeling he has had never experience before. It's fatherhood! Haha of course daddy should not forget poor mummy too who had to sit there for 2 hours over the past 5 days during the workshop. We took many shots of our dear girl, unfortunately not many shots of her in her costume. A pity though. However, all were captured in the video!
Jovan was elated to run forward to Jovin once the show was over and Jovin even had a certificate presented to her at the end of the performance and had a memorable shot taken with her teacher :)
It was a meaningful Father's Day weekend afternoon spent this year instead of the usual eating programme at restaurant.I think the happiest was dear as he really derived great satisfaction as he watched his dear princess's performance. Just this alone made dear feel that fatherhood is worthwhile after all.
We felt that Jovin indeed put in a lot of effort and what surprised us was that she was able to memorise so many lines. However, we felt that she still lacked some confidence but it was considered a very good attempt since it was her debut performance on stage. We felt that money was well spent for this holiday drama workshop and most importantly, Jovin loved it! We look forward to signing her up for more interesting programmes by the Academy and hopefully Jovan can join too :)
