Some of our friends may not know that we have actually left our Sembawang apartment since last September. We have been fretting over our housing issue for the past year. All the while, we were torn between to shift or not to. Finally, we decided to move on and it actually took us a year before we finally sold our Sembawang love nest for a good price. So since last September, we had been staying with my parents at Bishan while busy sourcing for suitable apartments almost every weekend.
Still recall the period of packing before we began the big shift. I just started teaching then. Having to pack all things single-handledly is no joke. But as I packed, fond memories of the apartment really flashed back in my mind. We took many parting shots of our house. Every corner, every piece of furniture, every detail in the house has really walked us through the past 6 years. Didn't bear to leave our love nest.......
House hunting has never been easy. Really really tedious and torturing! Dear and I have been viewing all sorts of houses till we almost want to give up. Property prices in Bishan are really rocket high. We are buying HDB, not condominium. But the asking prices are even comparable to condominum prices in some not so sought after areas.
We were actually eyeing on 5-room flats. However, we finally set our eyes upon an Executive apartment with a huge floor area of 148sqm, 4 rooms, balcony. Most importantly, the apartment is so conveniently situated across my parents' block! So after intense calculation and budgeting considerations, dear and I decided to make our offer and yes, we are the winners. I'm proud to announce we have finally settled our new home at Bishan!
From tomorrow onwards, renovation is going to commence. Our 3D designs are ready and we really look forward to the finished product. These few weekends, we have been busy discussing the dream design with our designer, hunting for furniture and electrical products etc. It used to be only 2 of us 7 years ago. Now, it involves the 4 of us as our little 'J's definitely have their fair share of say as the rightful little owners hehe...
Renovation is expected to complete by end August. Dear and I truly look forward to our new cosy little apartment where we will have our fun, play, privacy............ Our dear friends, look forward to our invitation as you join us for X'mas and Chinese New Year!
