Our series of X'mas celebrations first kicked off last Saturday with James's uni pals. It was a great turnout and was a great gathering and catching-up session for all of us. Jasmine and her boyfriend were the earliest. Jovin was initally shy and wasn't very forthcoming. However, as she started to 'warm up' with Jas, she started her usual stints and brought our many toys to show the guests her wide range of valuable toy collection. Jovan's performance was relatively good too as he happily chewed on his teether and played with Jovin. Soon after, the guests arrived one after another. Cuiling and Gaowei brought 2 whole chickens and we microwaved the chickens several times as we didin't see steam oozing out as we pried open the flesh. As a result, we overdone one of the chickens and the flesh turned a bit stale. Nonetheless, we finished the 2 pizzas, sushi, one chicken etc. Krist came much later but it was just nice, he brought us log cake and it was dessert time haha!
The guests browsed through Jovin and Jovan's photo albums and they were amazed at the effort I put in. Well, friends who know me well will understand this is my hobby and I love to do up scrap books, albums etc so that I can pass on to my kids in future. Of course, the guys had their fair share of play in the ever-popular home entertainment WII games whereas we girls chatted over Cuiling's customary wedding next year. We wanted to grill Jasmine who has accepted her boyfriend's proposal too, however she cleverly diverted our attention on Cuiling instead, clever her!
Jovin and Jovan were very excited when it comes to gift exchange. Jovin found it so thrilling to tear open the wrapping paper and presented the gifts on our behalf. The gathering ended around 11.30p.m where the 2 kids were dead exhausted too. We would next meet up with this group on 3 Jan at Cuiling's newly renovated place and they said wanted to celebrate James's birthday too. Looking forward to that day!
Part 2: Gathering with AJC CLDDS Pals at Junwei's place - 24 Dec 08
We had an enjoyable and memorable X'mas eve spent at Junwei and Tingting's place this year. They are the natural choice for our X'mas and CNY gathering this round as they've just shifted in few months ago. We reached there pretty late around 8p.m as we needed to settle dinner for the 2 kids, went to buy dim sum before we arrived. We were among the last to arrive and there was a great feast on the table with fried beehoon, fried chicken wings, deep fried delicacies, dim sum, log cake etc. Initially, we were afraid Jovin and Jovan who were both down with cough would spread thevirus to Yuling's kids. However, her kids were also coughing too. She said Justin has been down with flu or cough very frequently ever since he attended childcare. Sigh, same problem faced....

Jovin, as usual, entertained herself as if it was her territory as she was very familiar with Uncle Junwei and Auntie Tingting. She ran onto their bed, rolled over here and there as though it was her own bed. Oh my! Jovan was in a relatively good mood as I fed him some some bread for him to nibble. Baby Javier wasn't quite settled and kept crying mainly because he was too small too at 5 months. Hopefully he would be better during CNY. We had an early gift exchange as Andy needed to make a move for his next party. Coincidentally, both James and I got Yuling and Bihua's gift! Junwei got James's gift and he was so excited initally until he unwrapped the present to find that it was some Hello Kitty kitchen needs. Hehe, he's forgotten the wife is the one who prepared the presents. James didn't even know what I prepared. So, Tingting is the one who benefitted from the present haha!
We took quite a no. of shots, funny and serious ones. Not easy to take with the kids though but still managed to do so. Yuling's family left earlier as Javier kept crying. In the end, left with Baoling and us as we continued to munch the food. Tingting's parents popped by later for a quick visit and her mum found Jovan very adorable mainly because of his chubbiness hehe...

It was a great X'mas eve well spent and we will next meet up with them for our annual reunion dinner which is 2 weekends later on the 10th Jan! Well, can't believe we are celebrating CNY in a month's time! Looking forward to our next date at Terminal 3 :)
