Jovin's 1st Mid-Autumn Festival!

Time really flies. I still remember I was busy eating mooncakes last year as Jovin was inside my tummy, absorbing all the fats hehe. This year, little Jovin is here to join in the celebration! We had dinner at my mum's place. The dishes were simply like reunion dinner! Prawn balls, Fried scallop, fried bee hoon etc. One word-Splendid!

After dinner, we brought the kids to the playground downstairs near Bishan Park. There were many lanterns lit up in a row & Jovin was totally fascinated by the lightings. My niece & nephews happily played with the 'fire sticks' (really forgotten what's the actual name - the kind of long sticks which gives out sparkles of light when lit up). My brother bought 100 sticks & can u believe it? The 3 little monsters, excluding Jovin actually finished playing with the sticks! We lit up those traditional paper lanterns & Jovin had her try of holding the paper lantern, of course under my close supervision hehe! We strolled around in the neighbourhood with the lanterns. Jovin was trying to walk while holding the lanterns as well. Though stumbled several times, but can see that she enjoyed herself thoroughly.

It's a real pity we couldn't really see the moon as it was indeed very hazy. As we drove home, it almost looked like fog to us! The most memorable part which marks this year's festival is, we managed to record the scene when Jovin was shown on TV! It was telecast in this morning's Channel 8 breakfast show - Zao an ni hao. There were a few seconds scene which showed our family as well as a close-up shot of Jovin walking unsteadily with her lantern. Though it's only a few seconds, the telecast of Jovin on TV really makes a difference to our mid-autumn festival this year. I believe Jovin will learn to enjoy more of such festivals as she grow up & I bet she will no longer want to play with the battery operated lanterns. Looking forward to seeing her walking & running around with the lantern down the years.....
